Iowa Land Records is working to gather some objective facts about the cost of providing recording services in our 99 counties. In the coming weeks we’ll be asking you to help provide cost information about recording services using actual expenses from Fiscal Year 2020 (the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020). One of the key expenses is obviously human resources – the staff who provide recording services for customers. A collaborative effort among stakeholder groups during the 2022 legislative session resulted in the passage of House File 2343, reforming how sellers will process groundwater hazard statements. The Iowa Land Records team coordinated with the Iowa DNR to host a training webinar for real estate professionals regarding the new process that will begin July 1, 2022. To avoid confusion and to ensure a smooth transition to the new process, we encourage the real estate community to review the webinar recording and other resource materials from the live webinar that was held on June 9, 2022.
